To: 2012 Magnolia Mardi Gras Festival Vendors From: Magnolia Mardi Gras Festival Committee
The Festival is fast approaching, and we wanted to touch base with you. The Festival will be at the Depot/Railroad Park Grounds and the Farmer’s Market area in downtown Magnolia. All vendors will be primarily located in and around the downtown railroad park, with the rides being placed across the street in the Farmer’s Market area. You may check in at our vendor station located in front of Central House Village area on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Check in will open at noon on Friday, February 17th for food vendors and 3:00 p.m. for other vendors. Food vendors are requested to check in early so they may be placed more easily with their trailers prior to other vendors setting up. All food vendors, please be aware that the MS Dept of Health will be on site doing inspections on Saturday and you will be shut down if you are not in compliance with all regulations. Also, please remember that you must supply all of your own water hoses, splitters, electrical cords (make sure these are outdoor use heavy quality), adaptors, etc. Vendors will be responsible for collecting and paying Mississippi sales tax. A tax form will be given to you when you check in and MUST be turned in at the end of the Festival. No one is exempt, whether you have a sales tax number or not or are an out of state vendor. Festival activities will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18th and run until the fireworks display in the evening. The Mardi Gras Parade will be at 10:00 a.m. and we expect a large crowd. Live bands will be playing at the Depot during Saturday afternoon. Live band(s) will also be playing at the Depot on Sunday afternoon. Carnival rides will be open from 8:00 a.m. to close on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Since the Festival will be open after dark on Saturday, it would be a good idea to bring some lights and extension cords with you. We do have area lightening on the Festival grounds, but you might want extra lighting inside your booth. Availability of electricity and/or water will be at a premium so make sure to indicate on the vendor form whether or not either is a necessity. This is a two day Festival and we ask that you maintain your booth open both days. Vendors who in previous years have been known to close after the first day will not be given premium placement. There are no refunds for rainout or inclement weather conditions! If you have any questions, please contact Keri Morrell at 601-783-3301/fax: 601-783-3303/email: deucetou@aol.com. We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Magnolia Ma ttee
